Warwick Lovegrove (Mike Bound)Warwick Lovegrove: Candidate for Tadley North, Kingsclere and Baughhurst

I came to Tadley with my parents in 1956 and I attended Burnham Copse Junior school later moving onto The Hurst. I joined the Royal Navy when I left school and served on nuclear submarines. Service in the navy took me to many overseas locations. On leaving the navy I found employment at Eli Lilly in Basingstoke where I worked for thirty years. I am now retired and in the little spare time I find I have, I indulge my enjoyment of singing as a member of The Hurst Singers, Tadley Singers and gardening.

My children all grew up in the area and all but one still live here as do many of my eight grandchildren. My wife runs the local Age Concern foot clinic and when time permits I assist there. I am Chairperson of Tadley Elderly Care, on Heath End Village Hall committee and the Turbury Allotments committee.

I was first elected to Tadley Town Council in 1982 and since then have have always been a Town Councillor. During that time I have also been elected on many occasions to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council; for a period of time I was also the County Councillor. Between 2007 - 2008, along with my wife who was Consort, I was proud to serve as the Borough Mayor. I have served on many Borough Council committees including Planning; at present I serve on Licensing.

If re-elected, but for the new Ward, I would like to carry on as I always have, assisting people in the area by taking up their everyday problems with the Borough and represent local peoples views to the Council.
