Eric Dunlop has won the recent Whitchurch By-Election. Eric was elected by 858 votes, a majority of 149 over his Conservative rival, while Labour trailed in third with only 58 votes.

The by-election was necessary following the death of Liberal Democrat councillor Alison Wall on August 20.

Eric Pledged to do his upmost for the town. "I am absolutely thrilled to have won and can't wait to get on with the important business of representing the town" said Eric after his victory. Eric joins Keith Watts as the Liberal Democrats councillors in the ward.
