Martin Tod, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for North West Hampshire launches petition against proposed NHS cuts.9.03.45pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 1st Apr 2005
Martin Tod, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for North West Hampshire is launching a petition against proposed cuts in NHS staffing in the Winchester & Eastleigh Healthcare Trust and the Mid Hampshire Primary Care Trust. They are already collecting signatures, but will also be collecting signatures to this petition on April 2nd, 2005 by the Guildhall in Andover Town Centre. "We are launching this petition because we can't afford to stay silent in reaction to these threatened cuts. It's unacceptable that there should be news of cuts to the local NHS at a time when people already have concerns about out of hours support from GPs, about dentist provision and about continued support for Andover War Memorial Hospital." commented Martin. "The way this has all been announced has been a mess: funding of local NHS services appears to be in chaos. We are looking to get the support of local people to send a strong message to the Government that front-line NHS services in the local area must not be cut." You can help by going to our Download page, selecting the petition form, getting it filled up and sending it to the address at the bottom.
