Strong Support for Cinema Petition at Andover Fair11.22.51am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 28th Jun 2004
Over 240 people signed a petition launched at the Andover Fair by Liberal Democrats calling for a new cinema in Andover. Martin Tod, 39, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate and organiser of the petition said: "A cinema in the centre of Andover would make a big difference. There was great support for the petition by people of all ages. At one point we were worried that we would run out of petition forms. The campaign for a cinema is off to a really fast start and we will carry on collecting signatures until the council get into gear and make it happen."
