Councillor Alison Wall congratulates Keith Watts on joining her on the Borough Council
A record number of people voted on May 3 to elect Keith Watts as the Liberal Democrat Borough Councillor for Whitchurch. The turn out of 52% was the highest in Basingstoke & Deane on the day and is more than have voted in Whitchurch local elections in recent years.
After the votes were counted, Keith Watts said "I want to thank the voters of Whitchurch for their confidence in me. Now I have to work hard to deserve that support. I shall serve as a Councillor for everybody living in Whitchurch Ward, including the 828 people who supported my opponent and the 1,848 who didn't vote at all. I shall also speak up for those local people who are too young to vote."
