Andover people back Martin Tod's campaign against threatened health cuts

April 26, 2005 10:12 AM

After a day of Liberal Democrat campaigning in Andover town centre, over 825 people have now signed the Martin Tod's petition against the threatened health cuts in NHS staffing in the Winchester & Eastleigh Healthcare Trust and the Mid Hampshire Primary Care Trust.

Sandra Gidley, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Romsey joined Martin Tod, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate collecting signatures next to Andover Guildhall last Saturday afternoon, April 16th.

Martin Tod commented "People are still very angry about the proposed cuts. The financial problems in the local NHS don't match up with what we've been hearing from the Government about extra funding. It doesn't make sense to be cutting staff when Andover is growing. Our petition calls on the Government to provide the money necessary to stop staff cuts to front line health and hospital services in the Andover and mid-Hampshire area."

Please Note: You can help this campaign by printing a petition form from our Download page, getting it filled up and sending it to the address at the bottom. Every signature counts!
