Sandra Gidley's a Blogging MP!

Sandra Gidley, Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Romsey, is the first ever female MP to start a "blog" or web log.
A blog is an on-line diary that many think will be increasingly used as an important means of communication with the electorate.
Sandra said: "I took a long time to decide whether or not to write the blog, because some of the web blogs I had read were either terminally tedious or supremely self important. Some may think that my blog falls into one of those categories, but I sincerely hope not!
"I have tried to do a number of things. The first is to provide an insider's snapshot of Westminster and I hope to keep the comment fairly immediate.
"Secondly, I realised that a lot of what I do is not press released, so I wanted to try to give a better picture of the day to day life of an MP interacting with her constituents and all parts of the constituency.
"Lastly - I have found that it is a type of therapy! However, I have had to keep my fairly irreverent sense of humour in close check as attempts at humour can sometimes offend!"
The web log can be found at www.Romseyredhead.blogspot.com and will eventually be linked to Sandra's website www.sandragidley.org which is currently being redesigned.
